Titanium Implants
What Are Titanium Implants?
Titanium implants are a popular and effective solution for replacing missing teeth. They consist of small titanium posts that are surgically inserted into the jawbone, acting as replacements for the roots of missing teeth. Titanium is chosen for its strength, durability, and most importantly, its ability to bond well with human bone in a process known as osseointegration. This allows the implant to become a stable and sturdy foundation for artificial teeth, such as crowns, bridges, or dentures.
They not only restore the function of teeth, allowing individuals to eat and speak comfortably, but also help in preserving the jawbone and maintaining facial structure. Titanium implants are considered the gold standard in tooth replacement due to their high success rate, biocompatibility, and the comprehensive way they replicate the look and feel of natural teeth. They also usually last the longest among all other implant materials.

The Doctor and staff are excellent! You couldn’t ask for a better team. I’ve had a lot of issues with dentists over the recent years because I require my gums to be numb for any kind of work done to my teeth and most dentists didn’t want to or said I didn’t need it and then got mad when they couldn’t work on me. Searched and found Dr. Doktorman had some good reviews and I gave him a try. Now my go to dentist here on out. Staff is just as great as well. All are friendly, funny at times, and on point.

Dr. Doktorman is friendly and patient. I never have to wait long for an appointment. However, I’ve had this experience on different two different occasions. The doctor injects novacaine before working on a cavity. He has me wait but by the time he comes back and starts drilling it feels like the Novocaine has worn off. He gives me more when I’m in pain. But still I’m trying to have the minimal amount of pain when I go to the dentist and want to be as numb as possible for the whole procedure. This is one reason that I wound up switching to a different doctor.

I am looking forward to my next visit to my oral surgeon in Clifton. That is when I am receiving my dental implants. I found him to be very pleasant to deal with and do not mind going to the dentist at all now. After my next visit I will have a full set of perfect teeth, which I have not had for a long time.

When we were searching for a new family dentistry in Clifton, Dr. Edward Doktorman was highly recommended to us by a couple of people. My wife and my son went to see him first for a checkup and then it was my turn. I required two dental implants that were done without any discomfort. His chair side manner is very comforting. I was a bigger coward than my wife and son but I actually enjoy my visits now.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is titanium used for implants?
Titanium is chosen for dental implants because of its exceptional biocompatibility, strength, and durability. It integrates well with the surrounding bone tissue, providing a stable foundation for prosthetic teeth. Additionally, titanium is resistant to corrosion and unlikely to trigger allergic reactions, making it a safe and reliable choice for implant materials.
How long do titanium implants last?
With proper care and maintenance, titanium implants can last for many years, often decades, or even a lifetime. Regular dental check-ups, good oral hygiene practices, and avoiding habits like smoking can help prolong the lifespan of titanium implants.
What are the side effects of titanium implants?
Titanium implants are generally well-tolerated by the body, and adverse reactions are rare. However, some individuals may experience minor side effects such as swelling, discomfort, or inflammation around the implant site shortly after surgery. These symptoms typically subside on their own or with appropriate treatment.
How much are titanium implants?
The cost of titanium implants can vary depending on factors such as the number of implants needed, the complexity of the case, and any additional procedures required. It’s best to consult with your dentist or oral surgeon for an accurate cost estimate tailored to your specific situation.
